Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder For a richer flavor, you can use dark cocoa powder.
  • 3 cups powdered sugar Add more for a thicker frosting.
  • 1/3 cup milk Add more for desired consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with an electric mixer or whisk until creamy and smooth.
  • Gradually add the unsweetened cocoa powder, mixing until well combined.
  • Slowly add the powdered sugar, alternating with the milk, beating well after each addition until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
  • If the frosting is too thick, add additional milk, one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your preferred consistency.
  • Store the frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Bring it to room temperature and re-whip before using.

Notes
