1 mixing bowl
1 electric mixer or whisk
1 non-stick pan or deep fryer
1 slotted spoon
1 paper towels
1 tongs
1 cooking thermometer (if deep-frying)
- 8 slices bread White or whole grain.
- 8 oz cream cheese Softened.
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup strawberries Sliced.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- vegetable oil for frying
- extra sugar for sprinkling Optional.
In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Beat until smooth and creamy.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on 4 slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining 4 slices to form sandwiches.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and milk until well combined. In another shallow bowl, place the flour.
Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan or deep fryer to about 350°F (175°C).
Dip each sandwich first into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated, then dredge in flour, pressing gently to adhere.
Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
Remove sandwiches using tongs, and let them drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
If desired, sprinkle extra sugar on top while they are still warm.
For an extra treat, serve the sandwiches with whipped cream or extra fresh strawberries on the side.
Make sure to adjust the quantity of ingredients based on the number of servings needed. This recipe makes 4 sandwiches, but it can easily be doubled or halved.
These sandwiches are best served warm and can be enjoyed immediately for the best texture.
