Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 egg carton
  • 1 plastic egg molds or small plastic cups
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 non-stick cooking spray

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water for gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water for mixing
  • 3 oz Jello mix any flavor, such as strawberry, lime, or blue raspberry
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin (0.25 oz)
  • ΒΌ cup sugar optional, for extra sweetness
  • as needed spray non-stick cooking spray for greasing molds
  • as desired drops food coloring optional, to enhance colors

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove it from heat.
  • Add the Jello mix and unflavored gelatin to the hot water. Whisk until completely dissolved.
  • Stir in 1 cup of cold water. If you want to add extra sweetness, mix in the sugar until dissolved.
  • If you want to use food coloring, add a few drops now to enhance the color of your Jello mixture.
  • Lightly spray the inside of plastic egg molds or small cups with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Carefully pour the Jello mixture into the egg molds or cups, filling each one about three-quarters full.
  • If using an egg carton, place the filled molds inside to keep them upright.
  • Place the molds in the refrigerator and allow them to set for at least 2 hours or until fully firm.
  • Once set, gently remove the Jello eggs from the molds by squeezing them slightly or running a knife around the edges.
  • Display the Jello Easter Eggs on a decorative plate or use as part of an Easter egg hunt.

You can mix and match different colors and flavors of Jello to create a vibrant assortment.
