  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 parchment paper optional for easy removal
  • 1 oven

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Stir in the rolled oats and raisins until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into 12 bars.

Notes

Feel free to add nuts like walnuts or pecans for added crunch.
These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
You can substitute the raisins with chocolate chips or other dried fruits for a twist on the classic recipe.
