Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • to taste N/A Salt
  • to taste N/A Black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • N/A N/A Grated Parmesan cheese for serving, optional

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta in a colander.
  • In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  • If using, add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for another 30 seconds.
  • Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter sauce and toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well coated.
  • Gradually add the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, to achieve your desired sauce consistency, stirring gently.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat and fold in the chopped parsley.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Feel free to add vegetables such as spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra nutrition.
For a protein boost, consider adding grilled chicken or shrimp to the pasta.
This dish can be easily altered; substitute the pasta type or add different herbs to suit your taste.
