Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup ketchup plus extra for toppings
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, minced onion, minced garlic, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, and parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.
  • Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan and shape it evenly or form it into a loaf shape and place it on a lined baking sheet.
  • Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf for added flavor.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) using a meat thermometer.
  • Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans for a classic meal.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or can be frozen for longer storage.
For a gourmet touch, consider adding grated cheese or diced bell peppers to the meat mixture.
