  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 kitchen scale optional

Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups baking mix (like Bisquick)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if desired.

  • In a separate bowl, stir together the milk, melted butter, garlic powder, dried parsley, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the sausage and cheese mixture. Stir until everything is fully incorporated.
  • Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them onto the prepared baking sheet. Make sure to leave some space between each ball.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through, and the balls are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  • For an extra kick, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the mixture, if desired.

Notes

For an extra kick, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the mixture.
You can prepare the sausage mixture ahead of time and refrigerate it. Just form the balls and bake them when you’re ready to serve.
These sausage balls can be frozen before baking. Just bake them directly from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
