Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 skewers (wooden or metal)
  • 1 grill or grill pan
  • 1 basting brush
  • 1 serving platter

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • for garnish fresh parsley chopped
  • for serving lemon wedges

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  • Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the mixing bowl, tossing to coat them evenly in the marinade. Cover the bowl and let the shrimp marinate in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
  • While the shrimp is marinating, preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, making sure to leave a little space between each shrimp for even cooking.
  • Once the grill is hot, place the shrimp skewers on the grill. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  • Use a basting brush to apply any remaining garlic butter sauce onto the shrimp while cooking for added flavor.
  • Remove the skewers from the grill and let them cool slightly. Transfer the skewers to a serving platter, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
You can add vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini to the skewers for variation.
These shrimp skewers pair well with dipping sauces like cocktail sauce or spicy mayo.
