- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 ripe avocado, mashed
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 whole-grain burger buns
- Lettuce leaves (for serving)
- Sliced tomatoes (for serving)
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped spinach, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until fully incorporated but do not overmix.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.
Heat olive oil in a grill or skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the turkey patties.
Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 165°F/74°C).
Once cooked, remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
Assemble the burgers by placing each turkey patty on a whole-grain bun, topped with mashed avocado, lettuce, and sliced tomatoes.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Feel free to customize your turkey burger by adding your favorite toppings such as cheese, pickles, or different sauces.
These burgers can also be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before cooking.
If you prefer, you can grill or bake the burgers for a healthier option. Adjust the cooking time accordingly if using the oven.
